Fun in the Tub!

Want to bring a little fun to your bath time routine?  Here’s a simple “recipe” that guarantees smiles in the tub.  Fill muffin cups with shaving cream and mix in 1-2 drops of food coloring.  Then let the creativity flow!

The best part is that this mixture won’t stain…a benefit every mom will love.  Let your kids get creative while they get clean, for just a few dollars.  Enjoy!

The perfect “summer” snack!

It may only be March, but it certainly feels like summer is here!  Another 80 degree day is coming our way and this is a perfect snack for your little ones (and you) to enjoy.

Even the pickiest of eaters will love these frozen yogurt bites.  And the best thing about them…they are easy to make.  And if you’re in a hurry, they freeze quickly.  Pop some dots in your freezer and in less than an hour, you and your kids will be enjoying a delicious, creamy treat!

Choose the Charity Comes to a Close

Shopko’s Choose the Charity contest has officially ended.  While House of Hope did not come in first place, it was wonderful to be a part of the contest and see so many people rally for a number of great causes.  St. Marcus School in Milwaukee, WI came in first place.  Our hats go off to them, as they secured over 2,000 votes.

Shopko is graciously awarding the other organizations $1,000 each.  While we may not have come out on top, House of Hope is proud of the third place finish and is greatly appreciative of the money they will be receiving.  More than 1,200 votes is amazing!

Thank you, Shopko, and thank you to everyone who supported House of Hope over the course of the last month.  Your efforts are appreciated!

We’ve still got this!

Voting is now more important than ever, as we need to regain the lead in Shopko’s Choose the Charity contest.  As a reminder, the Shopko Foundation is donating $10,000 to one of five great charities based on YOUR votes! The organization with the most votes gets $10,000—and the remaining charities will each get $1,000! Here are the results so far:

1,276 – St. Marcus School
1,089 – One World Community Health Centers
989 – House of Hope
428 – Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery
208 – The Children’s Center

There’s still time! Vote every day—and tell your friends to vote too—now through Monday, March 12.

Vote daily…and repeat!

We wanted to share another update on where House of Hope is at with the Shopko Facebook promotion…

The good news is that we’re still in first place, but the gap is closing quickly with the other organizations involved.  So it’s even more important to keep spreading the word about this wonderful promotion.

Here is the link to vote.  Remember, you can vote DAILY through Monday, March 12 at 5:00 pm.

Here are a few tips and ideas to help spread the word:

1.  Add a link or note in your email signature.

2.  Set up a “Voting Event” on your personal Facebook page.  This is another way to get your Facebook friends to have a more constant reminder (if they miss your wall post in their news feed).

3.  Send a personal email to your contacts.

4.  If you are able, utilize your work to: send a company wide email, post in the break room, utilize your company intranet or newsletter, post on your company’s Facebook page or website or blog.

5.  Post this flyer!  Click here to download:  House of Hope Flyer

6.  Set up an ongoing event alert for yourself, so you remember to vote daily!

Again, thank you for your support thus far.  Get creative and let’s make sure everyone is voting daily!
